Underwater at Bar Reef

Bar Reef

Inhambane · Mozambique

A sheltered inner reef running parallel to the Inhambane Bay shoreline that serves as the primary training and beginner dive site for the region while simultaneously harbouring a rich macro life community that experienced underwater photographers return to specifically. The reef tops out at 6 metres and drops gently to a sandy bottom at 18 metres, making depth control effortless and bottom time generous on a single tank. Resident nudibranch populations, frogfish, and ghostpipefish tuck into the coral rubble margins, rewarding slow, observant divers who resist the temptation to chase the bigger pelagic action available at nearby sites.
