Underwater at Izu Oceanic Park

Izu Oceanic Park

Izu Peninsula · Japan

Izu Oceanic Park (IOP) is the peninsula's most established dive facility, pairing a managed beach entry with a structured reef that descends through kelp forests into open volcanic terrain at 25 metres. The site is famous for its reliable blenny population — dozens of species peer from their burrows along the rubble slope — alongside large schools of yellowtail jack that sweep through in winter. A dedicated night-dive platform and lighting rig make IOP one of the best after-dark macro sites in Asia.
