Kumomi records regular sightings of flamboyant cuttlefish from late spring to autumn, the species using its arms to walk along the bottom in a manner unique among cephalopods. Its flashing chromatophore display is not mere camouflage but an active aposematic warning — its flesh contains toxins comparable in potency to blue-ringed octopus venom.
