Ornate ghost pipefish are seasonally abundant at Yoda from late spring through autumn, drifting head-down among crinoids and black coral to mimic their host's feathery arms. Unlike true pipefish, females brood eggs in a pouch formed by fused pelvic fins, and pairs are often found together in a slow, synchronised hover.
