Fahl Island Reef
Jeddah Reefs · Saudi Arabia
Fahl Island sits just offshore from Jeddah and offers one of the most accessible coral reef experiences on the Saudi Arabian Red Sea coast. The reef system encircles the island in a series of terraces and slopes that begin in the shallows and drop to 25 m, the coral cover dense and healthy with enormous table corals, boulder corals, and colonies of staghorn that extend across wide sandy channels. Schools of sweetlips gather under coral overhangs, and the resident population of hawksbill turtles here is one of the most reliable on the Saudi coast. The site is calm and clear for most of the year and serves as an ideal introduction to Saudi Red Sea diving for both new and experienced divers.
