Les Ecrehous Reef

Dive site

Les Ecrehous is a remote reef system 10 km northeast of Jersey, a UNESCO-designated marine area with some of the clearest water in the Channel Islands. The granite pinnacles and ridges drop from the surface to around 25 metres through rich cold-water communities: dense dead men's fingers, jewel anemones in vivid colour patches, and plumose anemone gardens. Grey seals are resident and regularly interact with divers on the shallower sections. The tidal flow between the reef structures creates drift dive opportunities over mixed kelp and rock terrain. Access requires a boat trip of 40 minutes or more, which keeps diver pressure low.
