MV Caesar

Dive site

The MV Caesar is a German Second World War supply vessel that sank off Jersey's east coast and now rests at around 27 metres, sitting upright and largely intact. The wreck is the best-preserved WWII wreck in Jersey waters. The hull and superstructure are heavily colonised by dead men's fingers and plumose anemones, with edible crabs sheltering in every overhang. Conger eels are a fixture in the engine room. Pollack and bream school above the wreck in mid-water. The site is diveable at neap tides or at slack water on springs; it sits in an area of strong tidal flow and requires accurate slack-water timing.
