Taka Malang
Karimunjawa · Indonesia
Taka Malang is a submerged coral pinnacle rising from 30 metres to within 5 metres of the surface, surrounded by open water. The exposed position channels strong seasonal currents that fuel extraordinary fish life: giant trevally hunting in packs, schooling barracuda, and rainbow runners sweep past while reef sharks hold station in the current. Hard coral coverage on the summit is among the healthiest in the national park.
