Ngurtavur Reef
Kei Islands · Indonesia
A long shallow reef extending off the famous white-sand sandbar of Ngurtavur, offering some of the clearest water in eastern Indonesia. Hard coral coverage is exceptionally high — mostly intact Acropora tables and branching staghorns — and the lagoon side shelters dense populations of reef fish including abundant surgeonfish, parrotfish, and juvenile reef sharks. A genuinely pristine reef in near-perfect condition.
