Wanlitung Marine Reserve
Kenting National Park · Taiwan
Wanlitung sits inside a strictly protected section of Kenting National Park and represents the healthiest reef system on Taiwan's southwestern coast, with decades of no-take enforcement allowing coral and fish populations to recover to exceptional levels. The reef structure combines table corals, branching Acropora colonies, and undercut walls hosting giant moray eels and lionfish lurking in the shadows. Visibility regularly exceeds 20 meters and fish density is noticeably higher than at more frequently visited Kenting sites.
