Underwater at Zamami Turtle Reef

Zamami Turtle Reef

Dive site

Shallow reef plateau surrounding Zamami Island where green and loggerhead sea turtles have nested and foraged for generations inside Japan's first designated Kerama National Park. Turtles congregate at cleaning stations on the reef top and rest in sand pockets at 12 to 18 metres. The site is protected from boat anchoring and entry numbers are capped by the national park.
