Schumann Island
Kimbe Bay — Seamounts & Schumann Island · Papua New Guinea
A small volcanic island near the northern rim of Kimbe Bay whose fringing reef hosts one of the most reliably visited manta ray cleaning stations in the Coral Triangle. Reef mantas (Mobula alfredi) queue at the coral-head cleaning stations from May through November, while the surrounding reef carries exceptional coral cover and abundant reef fish biomass.
