Lionfish Wall
Kish Island · Iran
A vertical rock face on the southeastern edge of Kish drops from 8 metres to around 30 metres and is draped in soft corals and sea fans. Lionfish congregate here in unusually high densities, resting in crevices and hovering under overhangs in groups of four or five. The wall also produces excellent macro finds — nudibranchs, frogfish, and ornate ghost pipefish have all been recorded. Suitable for intermediate to advanced divers due to the depth and occasional current.
