Saltö Wall
Kosterfjord · Sweden
A near-vertical granite wall on the southern tip of Saltö island drops from 2 metres to beyond 40 metres. The surface is smothered in dead man's fingers soft coral, plumose anemones, and encrusting sponges in orange and yellow. Nudibranchs are the headline attraction — Flabellina nobilis, Onchidoris muricata, and Limacia clavigera appear on virtually every dive. Sea spiders with leg-spans approaching 10 centimetres cling to the sponge fields. Visibility in the national park is consistently high, making the wall's colour and texture unmissable.
