Second Cathedral
Lanai · United States
Second Cathedral lies a short distance south of First Cathedral and offers a more intimate, labyrinthine series of connected lava chambers and swim-throughs rather than a single grand vault. The network of tunnels and archways creates complex light effects throughout the day, and the walls are more densely colonised by black coral at depth, giving the site a distinctly different character. Large resting whitetip reef sharks and lobster tucked into every overhang make this a favourite for divers who prefer structural complexity over panoramic theatre.
