Meganisi Island
Lefkada · Greece
The small island of Meganisi sits off the southeastern tip of Lefkada and presents a stunning underwater landscape of sea caves, arches, and boulder fields densely populated with Ionian marine life. Large moray eels occupy every suitable crevice along the cave walls, and substantial grouper patrol the rocky terrain with the unhurried confidence of top predators in a protected bay. The cave systems here flood with filtered blue light in the morning hours, creating photographic conditions that rival anywhere in Greece.
