Conception Island Wall
Long Island · Bahamas
Conception Island is an uninhabited Bahamian national park roughly 30 miles northeast of Long Island, accessible by day boat from Stella Maris. The west wall drops from a vibrant shallow bank at 6 metres over a spectacular vertical face colonised by large orange elephant ear sponges, wire coral, and deep-water sea fans. The offshore location and national park status mean virtually no fishing pressure, producing an unusually intact predator guild — multiple Caribbean reef sharks and large grouper are routine sightings on every dive.
