Underwater at Ouvea Lagoon Drop-off

Ouvea Lagoon Drop-off

Dive site

The interior of Ouvea atoll holds some of the clearest water in the South Pacific, sheltered behind a ribbon of white sand and blue-water pass. The drop-off at the lagoon's eastern rim descends through staghorn and plate coral formations into a deep blue wall visited by napoleonfish, turtles, and schools of surgeonfish. Visibility regularly exceeds 40 metres and dive pressure is negligible.
