Tugboat Xlendi
Malta · Malta
A small harbour tug deliberately sunk off Xlendi Bay on Gozo sits perfectly upright in 42 m with the wheelhouse rising to 36 m. The vessel is entirely encrusted with orange and yellow sponges, sea fans fan out from every rail, and large moray eels inhabit the engine room. Strong thermoclines in summer make the lower deck noticeably colder, and the sediment flat around the hull hosts garden eels and burrowing anemones. An exhilarating single-tank dive for advanced divers.
