USS Saratoga
Bikini Atoll · Marshall Islands
The USS Saratoga is one of the world's greatest wreck dives — a 270-meter aircraft carrier lying on its side in 50 meters of warm, gin-clear water, its flight deck still holding intact anti-aircraft guns and the ghostly outlines of aircraft beneath. Decades of coral growth have transformed this war grave into a cathedral of marine life, with enormous grouper, schools of jacks, and grey reef sharks patrolling its massive structure.
