Stella Maru Wreck
Mauritius · Mauritius
A 75-metre WWII-era Japanese cargo vessel that sank in 1975 and now rests upright at 30 metres on a sandy seafloor off the west coast near Flic en Flac. The hull is colonised by soft corals and encrusting sponges, and resident lionfish, moray eels, and glassfish pack every opening. Visibility on calm days can stretch to 25 metres, making the full silhouette visible from the bow.
