Three Islets
Mergui Archipelago · Myanmar
Three small limestone karst outcrops rising from the sea in the central Mergui Archipelago, each ringed by submerged ledges, caves, and coral gardens between 5 m and 30 m. The shallow walls are encrusted with enormous sea fans and branching wire corals, while nurse sharks pack the caverns under the overhangs. Schools of batfish and trevally rotate around the pinnacles on the current, and seasonal visits from whale sharks make this one of the archipelago's most well-rounded sites for intermediate divers willing to make the liveaboard journey.
