Giant morays occupy the cave's deeper recesses, threading through crevices in the limestone with their mouths continuously opening and closing to pump water across their gills. They are apex predators within the cave microhabitat, hunting fish and crustaceans at night with exceptional olfactory sensitivity. Individual animals are highly site-faithful and have been observed in the same cave section across multiple years.
