Blue Cave, Budva
Montenegro · Montenegro
The Blue Cave near Budva is a luminescent sea cave in the Adriatic limestone cliffs where sunlight refracts through a submerged entrance to paint the interior walls in ethereal electric blue — one of the most photographically arresting cave environments in the Mediterranean. The cave system connects a series of chambers at depths between 3 and 20 metres, with the shallower sections accessible to snorkellers and the deeper tunnel sections requiring torches and buoyancy control. Nudibranchs and feather stars encrust the cave walls, and the still interior water offers extraordinary visibility year round.
