Žanjice Bay
Montenegro · Montenegro
Žanjice Bay on the Luštica Peninsula sits within one of Montenegro's most sheltered Adriatic inlets, where flat sponge gardens, octopus dens, and an extraordinary diversity of nudibranchs make it the premier macro dive on the Montenegrin coast. The bay's gentle slope descends through a posidonia meadow and transitions to a mixed sandy rubble bottom studded with encrusting flat sponges in sulphur yellow, orange, and crimson — a mosaic that hosts dozens of nudibranch species. Current is almost nonexistent, making this an ideal site for underwater photographers willing to spend a full hour in a single 10 metre square of seabed.
