Scuba Season
Underwater at Lima Rock South

Lima Rock South

Dive site

The south face of Lima Rock receives less direct tidal scour than the north and offers a more sheltered dive characterised by extraordinary nudibranch and flatworm diversity on the encrusting fauna, giant moray eels in residence throughout the deep crevice system, and large resting nurse sharks on the sand at the base of the wall. At 20 to 30 m a network of swim-throughs and tunnels cuts through the limestone, emerging into blue water with dramatic silhouette framing. Spinner dolphin superpods of 50 or more animals are a near-certainty on the surface interval, and whale shark encounters inside the wider Lima Rock area occur regularly from October to March during afternoon dives.
