Lima Rock
Musandam Peninsula · Oman
A submerged limestone pinnacle rising from 30 m that acts as a magnet for endemic Arabian Gulf species found nowhere else on Earth. Schools of Arabian anthias carpet the upper walls while giant grouper and massive barracuda patrol the deeper ledges. The rock's position at a tidal channel creates persistent nutrient upwelling that sustains an unusually dense fish biomass for the region.
