Octopus Rock
Musandam Peninsula · Oman
Named for the extraordinary octopus density in its honeycomb of limestone crevices, this site also harbors a diverse moray eel community — multiple species sharing the same reef architecture with remarkable tolerance for one another. The walls are draped in soft corals and sea fans adapted to the moderate tidal currents sweeping through the narrow khor, while lionfish hover motionless in every shadow. This is Musandam's premier macro and night-dive destination.
