Electric Beach
Oahu · United States
Electric Beach on Oahu's west coast takes its name from the warm-water discharge pipes of the adjacent Kahe Power Plant, whose outflow draws an extraordinary concentration of marine life that makes this one of Hawaii's most reliable large-animal encounters. Spinner dolphins rest and socialise in the warm plume almost daily, and Hawaiian green sea turtles cluster around the pipes to absorb the heated water, creating a scene unlike anything else in the islands. Strong visibility and the mix of sandy channels, rocky outcrops, and thermocline layers give divers an electrically alive sensory experience from the first descent.
