Peleliu Wall
Palau Rock Islands South · Palau
Peleliu Wall is the southern face of Peleliu Island where the barrier reef drops vertically from the surface into open Pacific water exceeding 300 metres. The wall is famous for its shark concentrations: grey reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, and silvertip sharks are present in double figures on virtually every dive, often holding position in the current at 20 to 35 metres against the wall face. Occasional oceanic whitetip and thresher sharks appear in the blue. The wall itself is encrusted with gorgonian sea fans, branching black coral, and sponge gardens that attract macro life between the pelagic action.
