Shark Point
Perhentian Islands · Malaysia
Shark Point lies off the southwestern tip of Perhentian Kecil and is the islands' most famous dive, reliably delivering blacktip reef sharks cruising the sandy channel between the reef and open water. The site is a gently sloping reef from 5 to 22 metres, blanketed in branching and massive corals, with a resident population of green and hawksbill turtles that show almost no wariness toward divers. The shallow depth and generally calm conditions make this an excellent all-rounder, though morning dives tend to see the best shark activity before recreational boat traffic increases.
