Tiga Ruang
Perhentian Islands · Malaysia
Tiga Ruang — meaning Three Rooms in Malay — is a dramatic site off the northwest of Perhentian Kecil where three large swim-throughs have been carved into a rocky underwater promontory. The passages are wide enough for comfortable single-file navigation and are draped in soft corals, feather stars, and encrusting sponges. Outside the swim-throughs, the reef is rich in macro subjects: frogfish perch motionless on sponges, ghost pipefish hover in pairs near sea fans, and nudibranchs of exceptional variety dot the rubble zones. The site reaches 25 metres at its deepest and suits both beginners exploring the shallows and more experienced divers pushing into the deeper passages.
