Mwahnd Passage
Pohnpei · Federated States of Micronesia
Mwahnd Passage is a seldom-dived southern break in Pohnpei's barrier reef, offering a quieter alternative to Palikir Pass with an exceptionally rich hard coral garden in the lagoon shallows immediately inside the channel mouth. The passage walls host some of the most diverse gorgonian assemblages on any Pohnpei dive site, and the lagoon-side shallows transition from coral garden to seagrass meadow where dugong have been sighted. The site rewards a slower, more exploratory diving style than the current-driven action of the northern passes.
