Punta del Faro
Portofino · Italy
Punta del Faro marks the lighthouse point at the tip of the Portofino promontory where the seabed drops quickly through a series of ledges and overhangs colonised by golden cup corals and crimson sponges. Pelagic species including amberjack and dentex patrol the deeper sections while schools of damselfish and bream hold station in the shallower zones. This is one of the best drift dives in the area when a light current runs along the headland.
