Overview
A granite seamount off the south side of Marianne Island, widely rated the best dive in the inner Seychelles and the signature trip out of Praslin and La Digue. Boulder fields fall through canyons and swim-throughs to about 25 m, with grey reef sharks patrolling the edges and tawny nurse sharks wedged under the ledges. Schools of bigeye snapper, batfish and barracuda hang in the blue beside eagle rays, stingrays, giant morays and napoleon wrasse. Current runs hard, so it is dived as a drift; September to November brings the grey reef sharks' mating aggregation.
Briefing note
Advanced drift dive with strong, variable currents - good buoyancy and an SMB are essential. The site sits in exposed water east of La Digue, so trips are weather-dependent and only run when conditions allow.
