La Parguera Wall
Puerto Rico · United States
La Parguera Wall is the southern coast's signature dive, where the continental shelf drops abruptly from 15 m to beyond 300 m in a near-vertical cliff draped with black coral trees, wire coral, and deep-sea sea fans. By day the wall hosts sleeping nurse sharks and resident moray eels; after dark it transforms into one of Puerto Rico's best night diving venues, with octopuses, lionfish, and fluorescent invertebrates emerging from the coral matrix. The adjacent bioluminescent bay creates a magical bonus after night dives, with the dinoflagellate-lit water glowing brilliant blue with every movement.
