La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay Night Dive

Dive site

One of only a handful of permanently bioluminescent bays in the world. After dark the dinoflagellate-dense water lights up every movement — your hands trace glowing arcs, fish dart like neon sparks, and the seafloor shimmers under torch-off blackout. Snorkelers do the bay itself; divers enter the fringing mangrove channels and shallow reef patches directly outside, where moray eels, sleeping parrotfish, and octopus appear under red lights while bioluminescence fills the water column.
