Underwater at Rapid Bay Old Jetty

Rapid Bay Old Jetty

Dive site

The decommissioned Old Rapid Bay Jetty is widely regarded as Australia's best leafy sea dragon dive. Dozens of leafy sea dragons drift among the pylons at depths of 3 to 10 metres, camouflaged against encrusting sponge and algae. Weedy sea dragons, big-bellied seahorses, southern blue-ringed octopus, and ornate cowfish share the structure. The calm, shallow water makes it accessible to Open Water divers while rewarding macro photographers willing to spend two hours on a single pylon.
