Yades Bay Wrecks
Rhodes · Greece
A cluster of two steel-hulled cargo vessels rests on a sandy seabed between 18 and 34 m inside the sheltered embrace of Yades Bay on Rhodes' northern coast. The larger wreck is draped in orange and purple encrusting sponges, its holds colonised by schools of two-banded sea bream and a resident Mediterranean moray that has claimed the engine room for decades. Amphora fragments visible around the debris field hint at ancient trading routes, adding a layer of archaeology to a straightforwardly thrilling wreck penetration.
