Shark Paradise
Rodrigues Island · Mauritius
Shark Paradise lives up to its name as the premier shark-encounter site of Rodrigues Island, where grey reef sharks and blacktip reef sharks patrol a sweeping outer reef slope in notably high numbers. The reef here is composed of interlocking hard coral formations in excellent health, with dense schools of fusiliers and rabbitfish providing the abundant prey base that sustains the shark population. Nurse sharks rest in sandy pockets between the coral heads, completing a trifecta of shark encounters on a single dive.
