Cap Morgan Wreck

Dive site

The Cap Morgan is a small Venezuelan-registered cargo vessel that ran aground on the southern reef shelf of the Rosario archipelago in the early 1990s and now rests partially on her port side in 14 to 22 m, her hull split open amidships to reveal interior cargo holds carpeted in orange cup corals and populated by dense clouds of glassfish. Caribbean spiny lobsters occupy every dark recess of the engine room while large green morays have claimed the bridge, and the intact bow section rising to 10 m has become a showpiece of encrusting life including finger sponges, tunicates, and branching wire corals. Current at this site is generally mild, making it accessible to Open Water divers, and the wreck's modest depth means bottom time is generous enough to explore every section on a single dive.
