Twin Peaks
Saba Bank · Netherlands (Caribbean)
Two submerged coral pinnacles rise from 35 metres to within 18 metres of the surface at Twin Peaks, creating a natural convergence point for pelagic and reef species. Nurse sharks rest beneath the overhangs in pairs or small groups throughout the day. Nassau grouper, now rare across most of the Caribbean, appear here in genuine numbers. The pinnacle tops are blanketed in star and brain corals in exceptional condition, and the walls descending from each peak host large sea fans and black coral bushes. Visibility is typically outstanding given the Bank's remote position away from land-based runoff.
