Saba Bank

Dive site

An atoll-like underwater plateau the size of Luxembourg lying 12 kilometres southwest of Saba in water 40 to 70 metres deep — one of the largest submerged banks in the Atlantic and still barely mapped by divers. The plateau is a hotspot for pelagic species: schooling amberjack, silky sharks, and seasonal whale sharks have all been recorded here. Cold nutrient-rich water from the deep Atlantic rises against the bank edge and feeds corals of exceptional health. Liveaboard access only; a genuinely frontier dive in a Caribbean context.
