Underwater at Mesa Pigadia

Mesa Pigadia

Santorini · Greece

A dramatic wall and boulder field on the inner caldera face, where volcanic geology has created a stepped landscape of pumice columns and overhangs draped in yellow sponge. Moray eels are resident in every third crevice. The wall drops steeply from 5 m to beyond sport diving depth; most divers work the 12 to 30 m range where boulders cluster. Visibility regularly exceeds 25 m in summer making it one of the most visually dramatic dives in the Aegean.
