Overview
Dragon Hole, also known as Sansha Yongle Blue Hole, is the deepest known blue hole in the world, plunging to over 300 meters. Located north of Drummond Island in the Paracel Islands, local fishermen refer to it as the 'eye' of the South China Sea. While its extreme depth is a geological wonder, diving activity typically explores its shallower, sunlit upper reaches.
Briefing note
This site is in a politically sensitive and disputed territory. Divers must adhere to all local regulations and permit requirements, which can be complex and subject to change.
