The Maze
Sint Maarten / Saint-Martin · Sint Maarten
The Maze is Sint Maarten's most complex and intriguing reef dive, a sprawling network of coral canyons, swim-throughs, and boulder-strewn passages on the island's north coast that rewards exploratory divers who enjoy navigating an intricate three-dimensional environment. Sea fans and black coral line the walls of the deeper canyons, while the shallower passages are alive with squirrelfish, glasseye snapper, and resting nurse sharks tucked into sandy pockets. The site's topographic complexity creates distinct micro-habitats that harbour an unusual diversity of reef species, from long-spined sea urchins to hawksbill turtles threading through the coral corridors.
