Mire Loch Wall
St. Abbs Head · United Kingdom
On the north side of the St. Abbs Head promontory, Mire Loch Wall is a sweeping vertical face that descends from a narrow surge gully at 4 m to a sand and gravel plateau at 28 m, rarely dived compared to the more famous southern sites and consequently harbouring undisturbed wolf fish dens, massive golden star tunicates, and kelp forests of uncommon density in its upper third. Seals regularly accompany divers here, making it the best all-around wildlife dive in the reserve.
