Puerto Colón Wall
Tenerife · Spain
The Puerto Colón Wall runs along the submerged volcanic cliff face south of the Las Américas marina, dropping from 5 metres to beyond 40 metres in a continuous vertical landscape of gorgonian sea fans, orange cup corals, and sponge encrustation that supports one of Tenerife's densest concentrations of endemic Canarian wrasse species alongside visiting pelagics that appear from the open Atlantic without warning. Shoals of bream and parrotfish work the wall's crevices in mid-water while the deep base hosts torpedo rays resting on coarse sand and occasional hammerhead sharks passing through from offshore. The wall's proximity to Puerto Colón marina makes it among the most accessible advanced dives in the Canary Islands, reachable within minutes from multiple dive operators based on the waterfront.
