Underwater at Maricaban Reef

Maricaban Reef

Dive site

Maricaban Reef lies along the northeast coast of Tingloy facing Maricaban Strait, where tidal flow creates moderate drift conditions and sustains a healthy mixed coral and rubble ecosystem from 5 to 25 meters. The site is well known among Anilao regulars for consistent pygmy seahorse sightings on sea fans at 18 to 22 meters. Moray eels, banded sea snakes, and crocodilefish are resident along the rubble border, while Napoleon wrasse regularly patrol the reef crest at 8 meters. Conditions are best from November to April when the northeast monsoon keeps swell to a minimum.
