Diver's Dream
Tobago Southwest · Trinidad and Tobago
Diver's Dream is a gently sloping reef plateau off the southwest coast, beginning at 8 metres and terracing down to a sand bottom at 30 metres. The site is celebrated for its extraordinary density of large brain corals — the biggest measures nearly 4 metres across — alongside towering barrel sponges that have grown to the size of bathtubs over decades of undisturbed growth. Nurse sharks rest in the sandy corridors between coral heads throughout the day, often three or four animals at once, while southern stingrays half-bury in the sand nearby. The site's relative shelter from the prevailing northeast trade swell makes it a reliable year-round dive, and the gradual depth profile suits all levels.
